Love Conquers All Delivers to a Local Shelter throughout the Holidays

During the holidays Love Conquers All shared some cheer at a local shelter for 30 Ladies and Gentlemen filled with toiletries bags, hats, gloves, scarfs, hot and foot warmers, puzzle books, a box of candy and love. The Ladies and Gentlemen were all delighted and full of cheer to receive the bags. The smile on their faces warms our heart. When you support our young youth and adults you feel the joy throughout our community.

“Before you ignore another homeless person on the street, just remember that could be someone’s father, mother or you one day. Remember we all have a story to tell.”

Many individuals try to help homeless people throughout our community by giving them money, but this often doesn’t solve the larger issues surrounding homelessness in our community during the cold winter months. They are different ways to help a homeless individual or families. Love Conquers All decided to share some warmth, comfort and the necessities they may have need for the hypothermia months to come.

We can’t do this lifesaving work without your help. Please make a generous gift today and fill out the secure form to make a one-time donation.

Find A Purpose by Giving Back

Whether helping people stay clean, warm, and safe, or find the aid they need. Is Love Conquers All Mission. Giving back to your community makes a difference. Giving back to the community is always a pleasure and to have the honor to participate and team up with Perfume Chick in this beautiful event was amazing. It was a little emotional for me to see over 300 coats for our youth. Purchase and slightly used was beautiful to see everyone come together for our youth. In today’s world, The Importance of Giving Back is often overlooked. Being generous has a multitude of benefits, both for individuals and their communities. Giving back can create a positive impact on people’s lives and help make the world a better place.

“One of the most difficult things to give away is kindness. It usually finds its way back to you. So be kind to others. You never know when you will need an act of kindness.”

Not only does giving back boost one’s personal fulfillment and sense of purpose, but it also creates a stronger and more vibrant community. Individuals can create an effect of acts of kindness and generosity, inspiring others to do the same.

Love Conquers All pass out Coats, Hats, Gloves and more on Thanksgiving Day

On Thanksgiving Day Love Conquers All and her family pass out 30 new coats along with 30 hats, 30 sets of gloves, 30 sets of hand and foot warmers, face and next mask with a box of cookies. A few years ago we noticed other organizations, ladies and gentlemen serve them food during the Holidays. LCA noticed they can use a lot more than extra food left on the sidewalk. The homeless population are particularly vulnerable since they have significantly few places to take refuge from weather and less ways to protect themselves outside.

Anything under 40 degrees Fahrenheit is considered cold. That’s why these essential items are a must as the temperature plunge across the country, staying indoors and warm is not always an option for the nation’s homeless.

Tents, Gloves, And Blanket Day

Love Conquers All passes out 40 new tents, gloves and blankets to the homeless. Most of their tents were ruin. Some were sleeping on the concrete with card board boxes, most tents were falling apart or had holes in them. During these winter months these items are a necessity for them. No matter who you are, you’re a human being, and we try and accommodate all.

As temperatures drop throughout the winter months. Staying indoors and warm is not always an option for the nation’s homeless. But for the homeless, fall and winter cause anxiety. Many will scramble to find decent gently used coats, cardboard boxes and newspapers to stay warm. Hypothermia is a real concern for those not living in the comfort of a warm home, and if exposed to extreme weather, our bodies’ temperature may drop below 95% and could require emergency attention.

Love Conquers All Serves Chili on a Chilly Day

Today Love Conquers All serves chili, cornbread and water on a nice chilly day. We decided to try something simple: Despite its intuitive appeal, the assumption that homelessness and hunger go hand in hand in the US. Some individuals are better situated than others to cope with the stressful nature of homelessness when addressing their sustenance needs. LCA get involves with our community. Instead of giving money or simply walking past them ignoring them. You could give them a hot meal during the cold days.

International Women’s Day

Lack of access to sanitary products for homeless women is a devastating and overlooked healthcare injustice that needs to be rectified. Homeless women confront the daunting challenge of securing materials to absorb blood and finding privacy to change and dispose of sanitary products.

The life of a homeless person is never easy. But for a homeless women, it is especially hard. Feminine hygiene products are necessary items that most women take for granted everyday. However we forget how privileged we are to have access to these products to begin with. Feminine products are desperately needed in the homeless community. Not only do feminine products provide items for individuals who need them the most, but they also provide a sense of dignity that is usually forgotten. Homeless women want to be respected. Being homeless is an abuse in itself. That’s why feminine products is a must I’m our homeless community. Toilet paper, restaurant napkins socks, napkins, rags and shirts. Rinse out over a period of five to seven days a month, 12 months a year. .

Love Conquers All passed out 45 black purses with all sorts of great feminine hygiene and toiletries products for women.

Love Conquers All Pass Out Toiletries

Today LCA pass out toiletries to the homeless. People experiencing homelessness experience significant barriers to self-care and personal hygiene, including limited access to clean showers, laundry and hand washing facilities. Today Love Conquers All passes out. Toothpaste, two toothbrushes, hand sanitizer two mask and a pack of wipes along with a Love Conquers All back pack. Toiletries are just as important as food. Toiletries is something they can use on a daily basis. Sleeping outdoors has been identified as a particular risk factor for increased prevalence of scabies and body lice. So instead of passing out food this week. We chose to do toiletries. They were grateful as always and much appreciative.

Love Conquers All Pass Out Fresh Fruit

As the summer days continue to get hotter. Love Conquers All pass out fresh fruit and bottle water. On hotter days. Fresh fruit is healthier and lighter especially during the sweltering heat. It’s great to do something different instead of feeding them the same things all the time. We believe in serving different meals and other different items we pass out in our homeless community. Giving them different options feels amazing and gives them something to look forward to on a weekly basic.

Have you ever stopped and thought about what you would do if one day you became homeless? For lot of us it’s hard to imagine. However, it is more common than we think and it can happen to anyone. That’s why LCA tries and strive to assist all homeless throughout our community and other communities.

The world of the homeless may seem very far from yours, but in some ways to my family it is quite near. Sometimes the smallest actions can go a long way. This particular hot day my father decided to get out and feed the homeless without me. He wanted to do something kind and give back to my community on his own. He wanted to shine a spotlight on the growing number of homeless people and families in the NOMA downtown area. He mention it’s hard being homeless, but this day was not about him it was about them. He prepared PB&J, Turkey sandwiches, assorted chips and bottled water. Unfortunately many shelters has closed or don’t have the space for them. Love Conquers All respect the homeless as individuals. We give them the same courtesy and respect as we would accord our family and friends. To take it a step father as a kind gesture from my father. A few weeks ago as my brother and myself passed out brown bags of food. My father passed out $200 $5 bills to the homeless. It wasn’t much, but to them it was a blessing. They were grateful. We can make a difference in there lives rather ignoring or dismissing them. Try a kind word and a smile.

Love Conquers All

Love Conquers All Pass Out Winter items.

On Thanksgiving Day, Love Conquers All decided to change the narrative. It were many families and other organizations along with Love Conquers All out feeding the homeless. Thinking back to last Thanksgiving we knew we needed to do something different. Instead of feeding the homeless. We decided to pass out 75 blankets, 75 hats, 75 sets of gloves, 75 scarfs and 75 reusable tote bags. In these temperatures you don’t have to be out very long, before looking at frostbite issues. It is usually extremely cold on Thanksgiving Day. It is literally physically, mentally and painful. People should not have to be put through this, but some homeless are reluctant to go to shelters, some have been cast away by society, no where else to go or can not afford a lease. They well so excited and grateful to be receiving something warm and something different instead of food. It were many homeless throughout the NOMA, K street and Union Station area where we adopted, but Unfortunately we only had 75 bags which clearly was not enough or went very far. Love Conquers All has decided next Thanksgiving we will passed out 150 to 200 warm winter items. Blankets and winter items are always helpful especially when living outdoors.
