The world of the homeless may seem very far from yours, but in some ways to my family it is quite near. Sometimes the smallest actions can go a long way. This particular hot day my father decided to get out and feed the homeless without me. He wanted to do something kind and give back to my community on his own. He wanted to shine a spotlight on the growing number of homeless people and families in the NOMA downtown area. He mention it’s hard being homeless, but this day was not about him it was about them. He prepared PB&J, Turkey sandwiches, assorted chips and bottled water. Unfortunately many shelters has closed or don’t have the space for them. Love Conquers All respect the homeless as individuals. We give them the same courtesy and respect as we would accord our family and friends. To take it a step father as a kind gesture from my father. A few weeks ago as my brother and myself passed out brown bags of food. My father passed out $200 $5 bills to the homeless. It wasn’t much, but to them it was a blessing. They were grateful. We can make a difference in there lives rather ignoring or dismissing them. Try a kind word and a smile.
“Just because they are homeless does not mean we’re not human”. “We Who We Are”!
