Love Conquers All Pass Out $50 Gift Cards At The Pandemic Shelter For Permanent Housing Residents

Tent encampments are on the rise, with more than 100 of of them now across the District as hundreds of people experience homelessness. Now Mayor Muriel Bower’s administration is trying a new way to clear out the encampments and move those people into permanent housing.

The District has thousands of people experiencing homelessness, many now living in tent encampments that are growing by the day. The D.C. Department of Human Services estimates there are at least 119 encampments across the District, with about 327 tents. Pandemic Shelter House over 500 residents from March 2021 through February 2022 and more residents to come to get permanent housing. The Joy on their faces makes our hearts smile. Most of these residents will be the first time having there own home. “The fear and excitement at the same time.”

Coat Drive For The Month Of November

Love Conquers All pass out coats to the homeless at the Pandemic Shelter. In February 2021, the number of single adults sleeping each night in Washington DC, Department of Homeless Services (DHS) shelters reached a new all-time high of 20,822. The report shows that homeless single adults frequently cycle between shelters, the streets, hospitals, nursing homes, unstable and housing exposing the feeble – often nonexistent – safety net for low-income people, particularly those living with disabilities. The highest on record since at least 2015. Across the country, individuals and families are struggling to recover from the economic crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic. The shelter of a coat is a basic need, like food and water, and the need is great right now. One warm coat shows how much Love Conquers All cares about each induvial in need of a warm coat.
